My husband is such a music maniac. When we moved to our home we started out with a huge collection of music from different record companies, different genres and countries but throughout the years he had made a habit of collecting more from his business trips abroad and we now have an entire room devoted to his record collection. You are probably thinking how he listens to all of this, well my husband isn’t old fashioned either because aside from records he keeps a digital copyof his favorite or collected music in his mp3 player. So for his 45th birthday I decided to give him something cool and he would appreciate which was a Bluetooth earphone.

Of course unlike him, I was a total dud when it came to technology so to be on the safe side I looked online and read several Bluetooth earphone reviews to find the best model and quality for him. Boy was he surprised when I handed him my gift on his birthday! He had wanted to buy an exact same earphone but hesitated because of the cost. I’m glad that I took the time to research and get my husband a gift that he truly likes, I smile every time I see him walk around humming to music from his Bluetooth earphones.

One of the things that my father insisted on buying for my backpacking trip to Europe was accident health insurance. At the time I only agreed because he was paying for my trip and I wanted to appease him because he might cancel it last minute or get into an argument at the travel agencies office and embarrass me in front of everyone. I didn’t realize how important it was and how thankful I was that I listened and followed his advice until I got to Spain and ran into a vehicular accident on my way to a restaurant.

I didn’t really speak Spanish that much and was rushed to a hospital from the scene by an ambulance so let’s just say I was so thankful that when I handed them my accident health insurance papers and they knew exactly where to take me and what to do. When I woke up my dad was beside my bed and had told me everything that happened. He even gloated by saying “Now aren’t you happy that I made you get accident health insurance?” with a smug smile on his face. I have to say that at that moment I had never been happier that he was right.

The most memorable moments of my marriage can be summed up in one word; Italy. When I’m in my kitchen looking at my china cabinet and I chance a glance on that beautiful set of hand painted Italian dishware I am immediately transported back to my honeymoon where my husband and I spent three romantic and unforgettable weeks in Vienna. My trip to Vienna is the reason why I love my husband the way I do. He is normally a very reserved and shy person, but when we were in Vienna, it’s like Italy took over and he was transformed into this uninhibited and loving husband who wasn’t scared to show everyone how much I meant to him.

He was so affectionate and passionate about our love making that it has become a personal joke in our marriage every time it gets monotonous to “import some Italian wine” to bring out the life in him! My husband passed away two years ago, so now it’s impossible to recreate those memories but I will always hold on to the happiness and passion that we had in those three weeks in Italy. I guess every time my children ask me why we don’t use the Italian dinner plates I can’t really give them a straight answer because deep down I feel like it will tarnish my fond memories of their father and I in Vienna.

When I read about a guy in Massachusetts spending almost $5000 finding his runaway dog, I didn’t really think that he was crazy or too lavish; in fact I understood where he was coming from. I have a three year old Labrador named Fluffie and I would probably go through the same lengths just to retrieve him if he ever goes missing. I was going through the pet supply store one day when I saw a peculiar ad about a GPS tracking system that you could latch on to your dog’s collar so you can track him at all times. I called up the company and a few days later they came over to install a GPS tracker on my dog’s designer collar.

You have no idea how much that GPS tracking system saved me from stress when three weeks after it was installed my dog jumped over the picket fence and wandered off into the neighborhood. When I realized that my dog was missing I immediately called the service and in a matter of 30 minutes they were able to get in touch with local animal authority personnel to retrieve my dog from its location. I can just imagine how it would have turned out if he wasn’t wearing that gps tracker on his collar.

One of the toughest things that my family had to do for the past year was to give up our 5 bedroom home and settle for a smaller house in another suburban neighborhood. When the recession hit, my dad lost his job and my mom was almost let go at her firm so we had to make drastic lifestyle choices if we were to continue paying for my private schooling and my brother’s Ivy League college education. We decided to sell the house and move to a smaller home.

Upon moving we didn’t realize how much stuff we had brought and had no idea how we were going to fit everything in the garage. My Mom thought of having a yard sale but most of our furniture was quite expensive so no one in the neighborhood would be interested in buying right away. So we went to town and looked for garage storage solutions that could help us stack our items in an organized and space saving manner. It was such a blessing that we found the best storage options at a reasonable price in a store downtown. We were able to keep all our things and in good packing condition.
